EMDR No-Fee Study Group
April 20, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
I’m excited to announce that our April meeting will feature the following presentation: EMDR with LGBTQ Populations, by Josie Juhasz, Ma, LPC. Josie is an EMDRIA Approved Consultant, EMDR Institute, TRN/HAP facilitator, R-TEP/G-TEP trainer, and member of her local Trauma Recovery Network. She integrates EMDR with sensorimotor psychotherapy, multi-phased trauma treatment, attachment and developmental theory, narrative therapy, couples and system models and hypnosis. Josie will join us live via videoconference from Bend, Washington, where she has a general practice specializing in complex and medical trauma, gender and sexuality concerns and complex grief and loss, working with adults, children, couples, families and groups. Having her personal experiences of coming out in the 1970’s motivated Josie to work with sexual and gender minority populations. She began providing workshops on LGBTQ in the 1980s in the medical, educational, and mental health fields. This presentation will provide key issues to take into account when working with these populations within the different phases of EMDR.
